Another hot Target collaboration! Designer Jason Wu is launching a limited edition collection Sunday Feb 5, 2012 for Target. Jason Wu is a favorite among celebrities and is well know for dressing our First Lady, Michelle Obama the night of the Inaugural Gala. I will be popping in Target at the Coral Ridge Mall Fort Lauderdale come Sunday for sure.

Accessories can really change the look of an outfit which is what makes them so special and important. Take a typical basic casual weekend outfit: A t-shirt and a pair of cute shorts. By taking an extra moment and adding the right accessories, your look can go from drab to fab. The littlest touches make the biggest statement.

At the end of Etro fashion show at Soho Beach House I went to check out the pieces up close. As I was thumbing through the dresses, I noticed another outfit I liked and it was on the girl next to me. After I complimented her on her cool outfit I realized that she looked awfully familiar and then it hit me – Bravo house wife! We happened to be in the elevator at the same time and decided to snap a quick pic when we got out. In our brief encounter Adriana said two things that stood out. One, “I like your jacket” (love that) and two, “look out for season 2 on Bravo!” Will do Adriana.

Attended a lovely fashion show by Etro hosted by Saks Fifth Ave Bal Harbour at Soho Beach House last night. Had such a nice time and most importantly previewed their Spring Summer 2012 collection for my clients.

The vibrant colors really captured the spirit of the Italian brand and I had a great seat to take it all in.
This is the dress shown above. Doesn’t look like much on the hanger huh. Guess the saying you never know until you try it on really is the truth.
After the show I went and took a closer look at the pieces. I love this space for a fashion show – it’s so intimate.
Delicious treats were passed. I sampled the homemade vanilla ice cream with dulce de leche and caramel drizzle. The tiny tart was a banana custard with blueberries. Yum.
Guests were gifted the Etro fragrance Paisley. Excited to see how it smells.

On a shopping trip to Bal Habour shops, I met the President of Manolo Blahnik, George Malkemus. While in town, Malkemus was meeting Manolo customers and promoting the new collection. Something unique that was being offered was the opportunity to design your own Manolo Blahnik. Customers could choose a shoe style and customize it to their specific desires. From the exotic leather of your choice, to heel height, Malkemus explained how each detail was completely up to you. Now that’s luxury taken up a notch.

As many of you know I am a huge fan of Diane von Furstenberg so meeting her at Bal Harbour Shops was BIG. Can I just tell you, she is even cooler than I thought. In interviews and ad campaigns she always touches on the importance of confidence. Here’s something she once said: “To be confident, makes you beautiful, makes you happy, makes you fulfilled.” Being in her presence she was nothing but effortlessly confident.
My favorite moment in meeting her – - she looks around the room and says in this amazed tone “so many dresses.” I then took a look around and saw girls of all ages wearing pieces from so many different past collections. That must be an incredible feeling seeing your creations on so many different women. In the famous words of DVF, “Feel like a woman, wear a dress!”

While at Bal Harbour shopping for a client I visited one of my favorite boutiques, Miu Miu! What caught my eye on this visit were all of the reversible sequin bags sprinkled around the store. What’s so fantastic about these bags is that they can give just the right splash of playful glamour to an outfit. This bag next to any little black dress – - very hot.
