FASHION: Fitting for NBC LIVE MIAMI at 11

Beauty hot spot in east Fort Lauderdale Fresh Beauty Studio was selected to be featured on the NBC morning show LIVE MIAMI at 11. The focus of the segment was on celebrity inspired current red carpet looks and to give viewers simple tips on recreating the looks at home. Naturally, owner of FBS Nikol Johnson reached out to LIVE-COUTURE to wardrobe style the segment. It was a great collaboration.

LIVE-COUTURE pulled gorgeous gowns from Saks Fifth Avenue at Bal Harbour Shops to dress Johnson and the models.

FASHION: Etro Fashion Show – Soho Beach House

Attended a lovely fashion show by Etro hosted by Saks Fifth Ave Bal Harbour at Soho Beach House last night. Had such a nice time and most importantly previewed their Spring Summer 2012 collection for my clients.

The vibrant colors really captured the spirit of the Italian brand and I had a great seat to take it all in.

This is the dress shown above. Doesn’t look like much on the hanger huh. Guess the saying you never know until you try it on really is the truth.

After the show I went and took a closer look at the pieces. I love this space for a fashion show – it’s so intimate.

Delicious treats were passed. I sampled the homemade vanilla ice cream with dulce de leche and caramel drizzle. The tiny tart was a banana custard with blueberries. Yum.

Guests were gifted the Etro fragrance Paisley. Excited to see how it smells.

FASHION: Splurge vs Steal – The Cork Wedge.

I’m constantly being asked by friends if I’ve spotted any great designer look alike pieces when I’m personal shopping for my clients. Here is one that is in stores right now. Though it’s the small details that really make “Splurge” designer pieces special, depending on when you plan to use the piece could determine if you should go for the “Steal” alternative. I can totally envision dressing a client in this shoe for a resort weekend getaway with a great flowy short caftan. Could also be cute with shorts and a t-shirt for a fun Saturday beach bar hopping look.
